Biggest Fines in NBA history

Portland Trail Blazers – Illegal Contact with Undergrads – $250000

The NBA prohibits teams from contacting undergraduates while they’re still playing in college. The Portland Trail Blazers were fined $250000 for contacting Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing, who were both playing in Georgetown at the time (1984). Even though the Blazers’ president denied any knowledge of misconduct, David Stern went ahead with the fine.
