Mark Cuban – Criticizing officiating – $500000

After a Mavericks regular season loss to the Spurs in 2002, Mark Cuban claimed the referees missed several fouls by Tim Duncan. The cherry on top was criticizing NBA Director of Officials Ed Rush, saying he wouldn’t hire Rush to manage a Dairy Queen, costing him half a million dollars. Dairy Queen also took offense to Cuban’s comments and invited him to manage a DQ in Coppell, Texas for a day. Cuban accepted and fans lined up in the street to get a Blizzard from their favorite team owner.
