On March 12, 1970 the Cincinnati Royals (eventually Sacramento Kings) won at home against the San Diego Rockets with a score of 165–151. The main contributors for the Royals were Tom Van Arsdale (36), Connie Dierking (34) and Johnny Green (29). The Rockets were led in scoring by Elvin Hayes (40, game-high), Don Kojis (23), John Block (20).
