NBA’s Most Tragic Deaths

Drazen Petrovic was one of the first international players to leave a mark on the NBA, paving the way for people like Dirk Nowitzki and many other greats born outside the US. He lost his life in a traffic accident on June 7 1993, four months before his 29th birthday, while driving home from Poland, where his team was playing a qualifier for that year’s Eurobasket.

His Nets retired his jersey the same year and he was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2002. He was also voted the Beast European Player in History in 2013.
