Vin Baker – Made Over $100 Million in The NBA, Now Works at Starbucks
Today, Baker is working at a Starbucks in North Kingston, Rhode Island, hoping to eventually et a managerial position. He credits the coffee giant’s CEO Howard Shultz, who owned the Seattle Supersonics when Baker was playing for them, with helping turn his life around.
He wants his story to be a warning to young athletes who earn and spend great amounts of money before truly realizing what kind of wealth they’re moving around.
“When you learn lessons in life, no matter what level you’re at financially, the important part to realize is it could happen,” says Baker. “I was an alcoholic, I lost a fortune. I had a great talent and lost it.”
