Every NBA Team’s Worst Draft Pick since 2000 – Pt3

Evan Turner – PHI – No 2, 2010

When you get to pick second, you’re usually looking for a superstar or at least a solid starter. Evan Turner was none of those, but the finger of blame could be pointed at the team as well. The Sixers decided against trading Andre Iguodala, whose skill set overlapped with Turner’s – they both thrived with the ball in their hands and did not have a consistent jump shot, so Turner’s minutes were limited. It’s hard to tell whether Turner was really a disappointment or Iguodala’s presence impeded his growth, but the pick would have been much better spent on Paul George or Derrick Favors.
