10 Landmark Firsts in the History of Basketball

Ending the list with two more recent events, the 2015-2016 season saw two unanimous MVPs being named for the first time in league history. Stephen Curry became the first ever unanimous regular season MVP after a 73-win run with the Golden State Warriors, breaking the 72-win record set by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in 1995-96.

As good as the Warriors were, they could not repeat as NBA champions, falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals. The Cavs were carried by LeBron James’ monstrous performance, scoring or assisting on 27 points in the fourth quarter of Game 7, earning him the first unanimous Finals MVP vote in NBA history.
