Dolph Schayes is widely credited with recording the first ever triple double in NBA history with 18 points, 22 rebounds and 13 assists on February 18 1951, playing with the Syracuse Nationals against the New York Knicks.

The shot clock didn’t debut until 1954, so a lot less shots were taken per game at that time, which makes these numbers that much more impressive.
