After Shaq left the Lakers in 2004, Ray Allen said that Kobe would now become a selfish ballhog in an effort to prove that he doesn’t need O’Neal.
Rumors surfaced that Kobe left Allen a voicemail saying ““I’m going to bust your ass”. Kobe denied this, but said ““Don’t even put me and dude [Allen] in the same breath”.
Allen and Kobe engaged in some trash talk the following evening, but the feud cooled off since then.
