Top 10 Most Promising NBA Careers Ruined by Injuries
Jay Williams was the best player on one of the best college teams of all time – the Duke Blue Devils of the early 2000s, having lead the team to a national championship in 2001. This kind of play got him a spot in the national team at FIBA 2002 and the #2 overall pick by the Bulls the same year. He showed a lot of promise, posting a triple double during his rookie season. In June 2003, Williams got into a nasty motorcycle accident, damaging the nerves in his legs, destroying his knee, fracturing his pelvis and pretty much ending his NBA career. This is why NBA teams go to great lengths to discourage players from engaging in any physically dangerous activities.
